With our Chrome extension, you can create assignments directly through Google Classroom. We recommend this feature if you want to use Trelson to help the student stay focused and you would like to work on the formative process.
When you have created an assignment via Classroom, this means that the submitted document can be edited by the student once they have submitted it in Trelson Assessment. The difference between “only” doing tasks via Classroom is that you still have your usual task flow and planning in Classroom, but Trelson locks the computer while the student does the task. Once the student has submitted the assignment, it ends up in the Classroom as usual, and you can give feedback. The student is helped by Trelson to stay focused and can at the same time have access to the adaptations the student needs, such as text to speech or spelling check.
Trelson Assessment can interact with Google Classroom in two different ways.
1 Import student roster from Google Classroom
Just like retrieving a list of students from a Google group or adding individual students from your Google domain, you can retrieve a list of students from Google Classroom. This does NOT create any further connection to the course, but only adds the users.
Select “Add students from the course” and select your course from Google Classroom.
2. Connect an assignment in Trelson Assessment with a Google Classroom assignment.
To make a connection between a course in Google Classroom and a test / assignment in Trelson Assessment, you or your administrator need to install our extension, which you can find here:
Trelson Assessment for Google Classroom
Inside Google Classroom, you now have a new button that connects the class assignment in Google Classroom with Trelson Assessment.
If you click on it, it will send you on to Trelson Assessment and add teachers and students directly to the Trelson assignment and you can then create the test as usual.
The same assignment will also be created in the Google Classroom course.
Once the student has submitted the assignment in Trelson Assessment, a PDF and a shared Google Document of the Google Classroom assignment will be created.
NOTE: If you create assignments via Classroom the students will get access to the submitted documents from Trelson.
