Our platform supports various types of student devices such as Chromebooks, iPads, Windows, and Mac, and it is important to note that some features may vary depending on the device and security client being used. In this article, we therefore highlight the differences in features for students, depending on which security client a task is performed in (method of lockdown).
Overview of functionality per security client
For students using Chromebooks, all functionality communicated in terms of possible resources to add to the assignment (e.g., extensions, websites, Google Meet) is available.
Limitations mainly arise when students use device types other than Chromebooks. When a teacher creates an assignment and chooses the security client for Windows, Mac, or iPad, the teacher has fewer options for adding resources, for example.
Additionally, we have two different security clients for Chromebooks, which offer different functionalities.
