Have you ever created a question you'd like to use in multiple assignments? With saved questions, you can easily reuse them. This article shows you how to:
Save a question
Here's how to save a question:
- Find the question you want to save.
- Click the star icon at the bottom of the question card. It’s located to the left of the copy and delete icons.
- Choose a name, subject, and any tags for the question.
- Click "save".
Auto-grading is saved with the question.
Now your question is saved!
Edit a saved question
Do you want to change a question you've already saved? No problem!
- Go to saved questions in the side menu.
- Find the question you want to edit and click the pen icon on the right side. It’s located between the eye and the three dots.
- Make your changes. Then, click "save" to update the saved question, or "save & add" to add it to an assignment.
Add your saved questions to an assignment form
There are two simple ways to add your saved questions to an assignment:
- Via your saved questions
- Directly within the assignment
Via your saved questions
(Note: Make sure to create your assignment first.)
- Check the boxes next to the questions you want to add.
- Select "add to assignment".

Choose which assignment and form (if you have multiple) the questions should be added to. Then, click "save".
Your questions have now been added!
Directly within the assignment
- Go to the assignment where you want to add the questions. Select "modules" > "form".
- Click "add" and choose "saved question".
- A window will open where you can search for and filter your saved questions. The five most recently saved questions are shown at the top.
- Use the search function to find questions by name. Use the filter to find questions by question type, subject, or tag.
- Click the "add" button to add a question to your assignment.
- The button will change to a checkmark when the question is added. At the bottom of the window, you'll see a list of all the questions you have added.

To help you get started with saved questions, we've created an introduction that starts automatically the first time you use the feature. If you'd like to see it again, you can reset it anytime under "my settings". You can also choose to turn it off completely there.
